A short summary of everything worth doing once.
SET IT UP PROPERLY
Contact email on a domain we do not host, and actually monitored Two-factor authentication enabled A valid payment method saved Auto-renewal on for hosting and domains Company details correct if invoices go to an accountant Sub-accounts for anyone who needs access, with minimum permissions
KNOW WHERE THINGS ARE
Dashboard for what needs attention Services for hosting, cPanel access and upgrades Domains for nameservers, expiry and EPP codes Billing for invoices, payment methods and credit Support for tickets, announcements, network status and the knowledgebase Account for your details, contacts, security and email history
BUILD TWO HABITS
Check the dashboard monthly. Open a ticket rather than guessing, and include the domain, the exact error and the timing.
KEEP YOUR OWN RECORDS
Credentials in a password manager, key details in a document stored off the hosting account, invoices downloaded periodically.
Do these and almost everything else takes care of itself.
