HTTPS problems.

WHAT TO ESTABLISH

What the browser says exactly.

THE COMMON CAUSES

No certificate issued for that domain or subdomain The certificate expired The site loads over HTTP Mixed content The domain does not match the certificate

THE MOST COMMON

A domain or subdomain added without running AutoSSL afterwards.

WHAT TO DO

Run AutoSSL in cPanel.

It covers every domain on the account that resolves correctly.

IF AUTOSSL FAILS FOR A DOMAIN

That domain probably does not resolve to this server.

Check the DNS first. AutoSSL cannot validate a domain that does not point here.

FOR MIXED CONTENT

The padlock breaks when a secure page loads insecure resources.

Update hardcoded HTTP addresses.

FOR AN EXPIRED CERTIFICATE

AutoSSL should renew automatically. If it did not, check for validation failures.

FOR EXTERNAL DNS

Records must be correct at that provider before AutoSSL can validate.

WHAT TO CHECK AFTERWARDS

Every page loads securely, and HTTP redirects to HTTPS.
