The Client Area holds your account with us. Keep your own copy of the things you would need if you lost access to it.

WHAT TO RECORD ELSEWHERE

Your cPanel username and the server name Which nameservers your account uses Domain names, where each is registered, and expiry dates Renewal dates and amounts for every service DNS records, particularly if you use external DNS Cron jobs configured on the account API keys and third-party service credentials Your backup locations

WHY

If your registered email stops working, or an account is suspended, or a domain lapses, the information you need to fix it may be behind the thing that is broken.

WHERE TO KEEP IT

A password manager for credentials. A simple document for the rest, stored somewhere other than the hosting account.

INVOICES

Download them periodically rather than assuming you can retrieve them years later.

THE PART PEOPLE MISS

If you run a business with staff, this information should not exist only in one person's head or personal inbox. Someone else should be able to find it if you are unavailable.
