What is using your space.

WHERE TO LOOK

cPanel Disk Usage shows space by directory.

Start at the top and work down.

WHAT USUALLY CONSUMES SPACE

Old backup archives left on the account Mailboxes, particularly Trash and Junk Cache directories Uploaded media, especially video Log files Old site copies in subdirectories

THE BACKUP POINT

The most common cause. Backups generated and never downloaded or deleted.

Frequently several, from different dates.

MAILBOXES

Check each. A single mailbox with years of large attachments can dominate an account.

Trash and Junk folders are frequently the largest.

CACHE DIRECTORIES

Safe to clear. They regenerate.

INODES

A separate limit, counting the number of files.

Many small files exhaust it before disk space, producing identical symptoms.

Check both.

WHAT TO DO

Remove what you do not need. Then consider whether you need more space.
