An FTP account restricted to a directory cannot write elsewhere.

CANNOT SEE .HTACCESS

Hidden files are not shown. Enable the setting.

FILES UPLOAD BUT THE SITE DOES NOT CHANGE

Check you uploaded to the correct directory.

Or caching is serving the old version.

REPEATED AUTHENTICATION FAILURES

Your address may be temporarily blocked after failed attempts. Wait, or open a ticket.
