Getting files onto the server.

WHERE TO PUT THEM

Website files: public_html, or the directory for that addon domain.

Check in cPanel which directory a domain uses.

FOR A LARGE NUMBER OF FILES

Compress them locally, upload the archive, extract on the server.

Far faster than transferring thousands of small files.

File Manager can extract archives.

WHAT TO CHECK AFTER UPLOADING

TRANSFER MODE

Automatic is correct for almost everything.

Binary mode for images and archives; text mode can corrupt them if forced.

Most clients handle this correctly by default.

WHAT GOES WRONG

VERIFYING

Compare total size against the source.

FOR OVERWRITING

Back up what you are replacing first.
