What you missed.
USEFUL PROMPTS
"What questions should I be asking about this that I have not?" "What is missing from this plan?" "What would someone with more experience notice here?" "What have I not considered?"
WHY THIS WORKS
The model produces a broad, conventional view of a subject.
Comparing that against your thinking reveals what you omitted.
WHERE IT HELPS
Planning Writing, where a reader's obvious question goes unanswered Decisions, where a factor was overlooked Documents, where something required is missing
WHAT TO DO WITH THE RESULT
Most suggestions will be things you already considered and rejected.
One or two may be genuine omissions. That is the value.
THE LIMITATION
It identifies conventional gaps. It will not spot the thing specific to your situation that nobody else would know.
FOR DOCUMENTS
"What would a careful reader ask that this does not answer?"
Genuinely useful before publishing.
THE HABIT
Run anything substantial past this question before finalising it.
