Explaining a cause and asking for support.
WHAT THE SITE MUST DO
Explain what you do and why it matters Show evidence of impact Make supporting you easy Establish that you are legitimate
WHAT BUILDS CREDIBILITY
Registration details Named trustees or leadership Financial transparency, to whatever extent is appropriate Photographs of actual work Specific outcomes rather than general aspiration
"We provided school materials to 340 children in Ogun State last year" is worth more than any statement of mission.
DONATIONS
Use a proper payment gateway. Publishing bank details on a public page invites impersonation, which is a genuine and common problem for charities.
Make the process short.
TELLING THE STORY
Specific stories of individuals, with permission, are more affecting than statistics. Use both.
VOLUNTEERS
If you need them, make that a clear path with its own page.
REPORTING BACK
Show what donations achieved. Supporters who see outcomes give again.
MAINTENANCE
Frequently volunteer-maintained. Keep it simple, and ensure more than one person has access.
