What to show about your business.

WHAT TO INCLUDE

Business name Physical address, or at least the area you operate in Phone number Email address Registration details, where you have them

WHERE

The footer of every page, and the contact page.

WHY IT MATTERS

Contact details are the strongest trust signal on a small business site. Their absence is the strongest negative one.

Visitors checking whether a business is real look for an address and a phone number.

FOR HOME-BASED BUSINESSES

You may not want to publish a home address. State the area you serve instead, and provide a phone number.

A business with no address at all raises questions; one stating "serving Lagos mainland" does not.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

If your business is registered, displaying the number adds credibility and may be expected.

CONSISTENCY

The details shown must match your business profile, your directory listings and your invoices.

Inconsistency confuses both customers and search engines.

KEEPING IT CURRENT

The single most commonly outdated thing on a website is a phone number.
