The hardest page to write.

THE FIRST LINE

What you do, for whom, where. Plainly.

"Plumbing repairs and installation across Lagos mainland" tells a visitor everything they need in one line.

WHAT TO AVOID

Slogans that require decoding "Welcome to our website" A history of the company Abstract language about passion, excellence and commitment

THE STRUCTURE THAT WORKS

What you do Who it is for What you offer, briefly, each linking onward Why you rather than someone else Proof What to do next

WRITE THE ACTION EXPLICITLY

"Call us on [number] for a free quote" beats a button labelled "Learn more".

KEEP IT SHORT

The homepage orients people. The detail belongs on the pages it links to.

THE TEST

If a visitor read only the first screen, would they know whether you can help them, and how to ask?

REVISING IT

The homepage is worth rewriting more than any other page. It is the one most people see.
