Page builders and shops coexist awkwardly.
THE PROBLEM
Page builders load substantial code on every page. On a shop, where product and category pages are already heavy, that compounds.
They also frequently conflict with checkout, particularly where the builder is used to construct the checkout page itself.
IF YOU USE ONE
Use it for the pages that benefit: homepage, about, landing pages
Leave shop, product, cart and checkout as the theme renders them If the builder offers shop templates, test checkout thoroughly after enabling them
PERFORMANCE
Check a product page in GTmetrix with the builder active. If the builder is loading on pages that do not use it, look for a setting to limit where it loads.
A BETTER APPROACH FOR MOST SHOPS
A light, well-built theme with good WooCommerce templates, and the builder used only for marketing pages.
WHAT NOT TO DO
Do not rebuild checkout in a page builder unless you have a specific reason and are prepared to test it after every update.
