A mid-tier shared plan handles a small shop comfortably. Do not over-buy before you have traffic.

WHAT UPGRADING DOES NOT FIX
A shop that is slow because of unoptimised images, a heavy theme, or twenty extensions will be slow on any plan. Fix those first.
