Customers cannot check out for physical goods without a shipping zone covering their address.
HOW ZONES WORK
A zone is a geographic area with shipping methods attached. WooCommerce matches the customer's address to the first zone that fits.
Order matters: the first matching zone applies, so put specific zones above general ones.
A TYPICAL NIGERIAN SETUP
- Zone 1: Lagos, with a local delivery rate
- Zone 2: specific states you deliver to often, with their own rate
- Zone 3: rest of Nigeria, with a higher rate
- Zone 4: rest of the world, if you ship internationally, or no zone at all if you do not
THE METHODS
- Flat rate: one price, or a formula
- Free shipping: optionally above a minimum spend or with a coupon
- Local pickup: customer collects, with no delivery charge
SETTING A FLAT RATE
Enter the cost. You can use [qty] to charge per item, or add a shipping class cost for heavier goods.
TESTING
Add a product to the cart and enter addresses in each zone. Confirm the right rate appears and that checkout completes.
