What hosting mail offers, and what it does not.
WHAT IS AVAILABLE
cPanel includes calendar and contacts support through CalDAV and CardDAV, which can be configured in clients that support them: Apple Calendar, Thunderbird with an add-on, and several mobile apps.
Webmail includes a contacts address book per mailbox.
THE LIMITATIONS
Setup is manual and varies by client Sharing between users is not as straightforward as in a dedicated platform Free/busy scheduling, meeting invitations and room booking are limited No central administration
WHEN THIS IS ENOUGH
A small team that coordinates by conversation rather than calendars, or where people already use a separate calendar tool.
WHEN IT IS NOT
If shared calendars are central to how you work, if you schedule meetings across a team constantly, or if you need meeting-room booking, a dedicated provider such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 is the honest answer.
THE PRACTICAL POSITION
Hosting mail is excellent at mail. Collaboration is where a provider earns its monthly cost. Do not force the wrong tool.
