THE HONEST COMPARISON
Hosting mail delivers reliably when SPF, DKIM and DMARC are correct. Most deliverability complaints trace to missing authentication rather than to the platform.
What hosting mail does not provide is the collaboration layer. If that is what you actually need, a provider is worth the cost. If you only need addresses at your domain, it is not.
