Checking Whether Your Mail Was Delivered Print

cPanel tells you what happened to every message sent from your account.

USING TRACK DELIVERY

cPanel > Track Delivery. Enter a recipient address to filter, or leave it blank for recent activity.

READING THE RESULTS

  • Success: the receiving server accepted it. If the recipient says it never arrived, it is in their spam folder or was filtered on their side. The problem is not at our end.
  • Deferred: the receiving server asked us to retry later. Usually temporary, often greylisting.
  • Failed: rejected. Click the magnifying glass for the exact reason.

COMMON FAILURE MESSAGES

"User unknown": the address is wrong or no longer exists. "Mailbox full": the recipient is over quota. "Message rejected as spam", or a blocklist reference: a reputation or authentication problem. "Relay access denied": authentication not configured in your mail client.

WHY THIS TOOL IS USEFUL

It settles the question of whether a message left at all, which is otherwise guesswork. Include a screenshot of the relevant row when opening a ticket about email.
