Hosting mail is for correspondence. Campaigns need a different tool.

WHY NOT SEND FROM HOSTING

Hourly limits interrupt a campaign partway through No bounce handling, so invalid addresses keep being retried No unsubscribe management, which most jurisdictions require No delivery reporting One complaint-heavy campaign damages the sending reputation of every account on the server

WHAT TO USE INSTEAD

SendGrid, Brevo, Mailgun or a marketing platform. Most have free tiers adequate for a small list.

SETTING ONE UP

  1. Create an account and verify your domain.
  2. Add the SPF and DKIM records they supply, alongside your existing ones, in a single SPF record.
  3. Send from an address on your own domain.
  4. Import only addresses that opted in.

THE RULES THAT MATTER

Send only to people who asked. A list bought, scraped or collected from business cards is not a list you have permission to email. Include a working unsubscribe link and honour it promptly. Do not use misleading subject lines or From addresses.

Breaching these is both a policy problem and a reputation problem.
