Setting up a mailbox takes about a minute.

THE STEPS

  1. In cPanel open Email Accounts under Email.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Choose the domain from the dropdown if you host more than one.
  4. Enter the part before the @, such as info or sales.
  5. Set a strong password, or use the generator.
  6. Set the storage space. 1GB suits most mailboxes. Unlimited draws from your total account quota, which can fill the account unnoticed.
  7. Click Create.

ACCESSING IT IMMEDIATELY

Click Check Email beside the account to open webmail, or visit yourdomain.com/webmail and log in with the full address and its password.

SETTING IT UP ON A DEVICE

Click Connect Devices beside the account. cPanel shows the exact hostname, ports and settings for your account, and offers automatic configuration for some clients.

A COMMON MISTAKE

The username for mail is always the FULL email address, not just the part before the @. Entering only the prefix is the single most frequent cause of a mail client refusing to connect.
