How rewards are treated depends on your circumstances.
WHAT WE CAN TELL YOU
What rewards you earned, when, what you redeemed, and what credit was applied. Your rewards history and invoices hold this.
WHAT WE CANNOT TELL YOU
How to treat it for tax purposes. That depends on your residence, whether you operate as an individual or a business, the amounts involved and local rules. Speak to an accountant.
PRACTICAL POINTS
Where rewards are redeemed as credit and applied to invoices, the invoice shows the credit applied and the amount actually paid. That is your record. If you operate as a registered business, make sure your Client Area account carries the business details so invoices are correct.
IF YOUR ACCOUNTANT NEEDS DOCUMENTATION
Open a ticket describing what is required. We can usually provide a statement of rewards activity for a period.
DO NOT
Rely on assumptions about treatment. The amounts are usually modest, but it costs less to ask an accountant once than to correct it later.
