Discounted orders may earn differently.
WHY
Rewards are typically calculated on the amount actually paid. An order at a promotional price generates less revenue, and therefore fewer rewards, than the same order at standard price.
Some programmes exclude promotional orders entirely. Check your dashboard.
WHAT THIS MEANS
An introductory-priced first year may earn little, while the standard-priced renewal earns normally. Rewards redeemed as credit reduce the amount paid, and amounts settled with credit typically do not themselves earn. Rewards do not compound.
WHAT NOT TO DO
Do not pay full price deliberately in order to earn more rewards. Rewards are worth a fraction of the spend, so this never works out. Do not skip a promotional code to protect earning. Take the discount.
THE ORDER OF PRIORITY
Take the best price available. Earn whatever rewards follow from it. The discount is always worth more than the rewards forgone.
If a promotion and the rewards programme interact in a way the dashboard does not make clear, ask before ordering.
