Where the programme recognises tenure, continuity itself earns.

WHAT THIS TYPICALLY MEANS

Longer relationships earning at a better rate, reaching a higher tier, or receiving benefits your dashboard specifies.

WHY PROVIDERS DO THIS

Retaining a customer costs far less than acquiring one. Returning some of that difference to customers who stay is straightforward economics, not generosity.

WHAT COUNTS AS TENURE

Usually continuous active service. Check whether a cancellation and later return resets it, since this catches people out.

WHAT TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT

Do not stay on a plan that no longer suits you in order to protect tenure. The rewards are worth a fraction of what the wrong plan costs you in performance or unused capacity.

Upgrading or downgrading normally preserves tenure, since the account continues. Cancelling and reordering may not.

IF YOU ARE PLANNING A CHANGE

Ask in a ticket whether it affects your standing. Restructuring services in a way that resets years of tenure is avoidable if you know in advance.
