Paying for a service that will belong to another person needs deliberate handling.
THE PRINCIPLE
Whoever holds the Client Area account is our customer. We take instructions from them and discuss the account with them. Who paid is not what determines this.
IF THE SERVICE SHOULD BE THEIRS
Have them create the account and order it, and pay the invoice on their behalf if you wish. Send them the invoice PDF, or pay it through their account with their agreement.
The account and the services are then theirs from the start, with no handover needed later.
IF YOU ORDER IT UNDER YOUR ACCOUNT
You own it. Transferring it later requires our formal ownership transfer process, which involves verification of both parties.
DOMAINS
Register with the intended owner as registrant. This is the record that establishes ownership, and correcting it later may trigger a 60-day transfer lock.
WHAT NOT TO DO
Do not order everything under your own account intending to sort it out later for a client. Later is when relationships have changed and nobody agrees what was intended.
Decide the ownership before you pay.
