Domains you own but do not currently use still need decisions.

PARKING

A parked domain is registered but not serving a site. Options:

Redirect it to your main site, which is usually the most useful choice Point it at a simple holding page Leave it unresolved, which is fine but tells visitors nothing

Keep renewing it if it protects your brand or might be needed later.

SELLING

If you no longer need it and it has value, you can list it on a domain marketplace, or wait for an approach. Be realistic: most domains have little resale value, and listing fees can exceed what they fetch.

If you agree a sale, transfer it properly through the registrar process and use an escrow service for anything of significant value. Do not transfer before payment clears.

RETIRING IT

If you genuinely no longer want it, let it lapse deliberately. Before doing so:

Make sure nothing still points at it: email addresses, links, third-party service verifications

Redirect any inbound traffic to the domain you are keeping, for a period first Check no customer-facing material still lists it

Then disable auto-renewal so it lapses on your terms rather than by surprise.
