Renewal extends the registration. Missing it has consequences that hosting suspension does not.
HOW IT WORKS
An invoice is generated in advance of the expiry date and reminders follow. On payment we renew with the registry and the expiry date moves forward.
RENEWING MANUALLY
Billing > My Invoices, pay the renewal invoice. Or Domains > My Domains > click the domain, where a renewal option is available.
RENEWING EARLY OR FOR MULTIPLE YEARS
Usually possible, and worth doing for a domain your business depends on. Most extensions allow registration up to ten years ahead.
PRICE CHANGES
Renewal prices are not always the same as the first-year price, and registry prices move. The current figure is on the invoice.
THE MOST IMPORTANT SETTING
Auto-renewal. Enable it and keep a valid card on file.
WHY DOMAINS MATTER MORE THAN HOSTING HERE
An unpaid hosting invoice suspends a service you can restore by paying. An unpaid domain invoice lets a registration lapse, and after redemption the domain is released for anyone to register. That is not recoverable.
