Transfers fail for a small set of reasons, all identifiable.

THE USUAL CAUSES

The domain is locked at the registrar. The EPP code is wrong, expired, or was retyped with a character changed. Codes are case-sensitive. The domain is within 60 days of registration, or within 60 days of a previous transfer. Registry rules, not registrar policy. The registrant email address is unreachable, so the approval request never arrives. Privacy protection is intercepting the approval email. The domain has expired or is in redemption. It must be renewed before it can be transferred. The registry has applied a hold status. Required documentation for a restricted extension was not supplied.

WHAT TO DO

Check the lock and the code first; between them they explain most rejections. Confirm the registrant email and check its spam folder. Look up the domain in WHOIS to see its current status and dates.

IF IT STILL FAILS

Open a ticket with the domain name and the exact error the receiving registrar reported. The wording usually identifies the cause precisely, and we can check the registry status directly.

Repeated failed attempts do not accumulate; fixing the underlying cause and retrying works normally.
