The client keeps asking.

WHAT IT USUALLY MEANS

Authentication is failing repeatedly.

WHAT TO CHECK

That the password is correct, by logging into webmail That the username is the full address That the stored password is not out of date

THE OUT-OF-DATE PASSWORD

If the password was changed, every device needs updating.

A device still using the old one prompts repeatedly and may trigger a block.

THE BLOCKING CONSEQUENCE

Repeated failures from one address can block it temporarily.

That affects your other devices on the same connection.

WHAT TO DO

Update every device when you change a mailbox password.

Including ones you rarely use.

WHAT ELSE CAUSES IT

Outgoing authentication configured separately and not updated A saved credential in the operating system's keychain

Remove the account and add it again with correct settings.
