What each field means.

INCOMING SERVER

Where your client collects mail.

Usually mail followed by your domain, or the server hostname.

OUTGOING SERVER

Where your client sends mail.

Usually the same hostname.

PORTS

Numbers identifying the service.

Different for IMAP, POP and outgoing, and different for encrypted and unencrypted.

Use the encrypted options.

ENCRYPTION

SSL or TLS. Always use it.

Without it, your password crosses the network unprotected.

USERNAME

Your full email address, in almost all cases.

Not just the part before the at sign.

THAT IS THE MOST COMMON SETUP ERROR

PASSWORD

The mailbox password, not your cPanel password.

AUTHENTICATION FOR OUTGOING

Required. Your client must authenticate to send.

Many setup failures are this being disabled.

WHERE TO GET THE EXACT VALUES

cPanel, Email Accounts, connect devices.

Use those, not values from a general guide.
