Reasonable measures.

WHAT IS REALISTIC

Prevent casual sharing.

You cannot prevent determined copying, and trying too hard damages the experience for paying students.

WHAT TO DO

Serve downloads through the course system, not from public_html Use a video platform with domain restriction for paid content Limit simultaneous logins, where the software supports it

THE PUBLIC_HTML POINT

A PDF or video file in public_html is downloadable by anyone with the address.

Restricting the lesson page does not restrict the file.

That is the most common mistake.

WHAT NOT TO DO

Aggressive protection that breaks playback Watermarks so intrusive they harm the content Treating students as suspects

IF CONTENT IS SHARED

Consider whether the sharers would have bought.

Frequently not, and the response costs more than the loss.

WHAT ACTUALLY PROTECTS A COURSE

Ongoing support and community, which cannot be copied.
