Getting the details right.
USE THE BUSINESS NAME
When registering your account, enter the business name in the company field.
That appears on invoices, which matters for your records and your accountant.
DOMAIN REGISTRANT DETAILS
Register domains in the business's name, with business contact details.
The registrant record establishes ownership. A domain in an individual's name that the business believes is its own creates a dispute later.
THE CONTACT EMAIL
A business address, ideally a role address such as accounts@ or admin@, rather than an individual's personal address.
Role addresses survive staff changes.
WHY THIS MATTERS
An account registered to an employee who leaves is difficult to recover.
WHO SHOULD HAVE ACCESS
More than one person, in any business.
An account only one person can reach is a continuity risk.
INVOICES FOR YOUR ACCOUNTANT
Downloadable as PDF from Client Area > Billing > My Invoices.
IF THE ACCOUNT IS CURRENTLY IN THE WRONG NAME
Open a ticket. We will explain what is needed to correct it.
Resolve it while you can, not during a dispute.
