Hosting is suspended after a period. Your data remains and paying restores access.
A domain expires, which is considerably more serious.
THE DOMAIN DIFFERENCE
An expired domain takes down your website and your email immediately.
Recovery becomes more expensive as time passes, and eventually impossible.
Never let a domain lapse.
PREVENTING IT
Enable auto-renewal on every domain Keep a valid payment method on file Keep your contact email current and monitored
YOUR CONTACT EMAIL
Should not be on the domain that might lapse. If it does, you cannot receive the warnings.
Use an address on a different domain.
IF YOU RECEIVE A RENEWAL NOTICE FOR SOMETHING YOU NO LONGER WANT
Cancel it in the Client Area rather than letting the invoice go unpaid.
