WHEN THIS APPLIES
You registered the domain elsewhere and want hosting with us.
THE STEPS
- Choose your hosting plan and billing cycle
- At the domain step, choose to use a domain you already own
- Enter the domain
- Continue to checkout and complete
AFTER ORDERING
Your welcome email contains your nameservers.
You must change the nameservers at whichever registrar holds the domain.
WHERE TO CHANGE THEM
At the registrar, not in cPanel.
Log in there and replace the existing nameservers with the pair in your welcome email.
HOW LONG IT TAKES
Usually within an hour, occasionally up to forty-eight.
Until then, the domain continues resolving wherever it pointed before.
IMPORTANT IF YOU HAVE EXISTING EMAIL
Changing nameservers moves your DNS to us. If your email is elsewhere, the MX records must be recreated here or mail stops.
Tell us before changing if email is involved, and we will help.
IF YOU CANNOT REACH THE REGISTRAR
That must be resolved before the domain can point at us. Open a ticket and we will advise.
