Recognising what is not working.
THE HONEST QUESTION
After a year of consistent effort, has it produced customers?
WHAT TO CHECK FIRST
Were you actually consistent? Sporadic posting is not a fair test. Are your customers on that platform? Is your content anything anyone would stop for?
IF ALL THREE ARE YES AND IT PRODUCES NOTHING
Reduce or stop. Time spent on a channel producing nothing is time not spent on one that works.
That is a legitimate decision.
REDUCING RATHER THAN STOPPING
Monthly rather than weekly. Maintains presence at lower cost.
An account with occasional recent activity is better than an abandoned one.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE ACCOUNT
Keep it. Update the profile so details are current.
Someone finding it should get accurate information even if you rarely post.
WHAT NOT TO DO
Delete it, leaving your business name available to someone else.
WHERE TO SPEND THE TIME INSTEAD
Search visibility, email, or the channel that already produces enquiries.
THE COMMON DISCOVERY
That WhatsApp and referrals produce more than any social platform, and deserve the attention.
