A TYPICAL NIGERIAN SETUP
- Zone 1: your immediate area, with a local rate
- Zone 2: the rest of your city or state
- Zone 3: named states you deliver to regularly
- Zone 4: rest of Nigeria, at a higher rate
Order matters: specific zones above general ones, since the first match applies.
IN WOOCOMMERCE
Settings > Shipping > Add shipping zone. Define the region and add a method with a rate.
Without a zone covering a customer's address, they cannot check out for physical goods.
RATES
Flat rate per zone is simplest and adequate for most businesses.
Add shipping classes if some items cost considerably more to send.
COLLECTION
Add Local pickup for customers who will collect. It costs you nothing and some customers prefer it.
FREE DELIVERY
Above a threshold set higher than your average order value, so it encourages a larger basket rather than giving away delivery on orders you already had.
TESTING
Add a product to the cart and enter addresses in each zone. Confirm the right rate appears and checkout completes.
