Widely used and worth enabling.

WHY OFFER IT

Many Nigerian customers prefer bank transfer, particularly for a first purchase from an unfamiliar business.

Refusing it refuses those customers.

SETTING IT UP

In WooCommerce, enable Direct bank transfer and enter your account details. They appear on the order confirmation.

Orders are placed as on-hold. You confirm payment arrived, then mark them processing and dispatch.

PRACTICAL POINTS

Ask customers to use the order number as the transfer reference, and say so in the instructions State how long you will hold an order awaiting payment Check for payments at set times rather than continuously

THE RISK

Orders held for payment that never arrives, tying up stock. Set a hold period and release stock afterwards.

VERIFYING PAYMENT

Check your bank, not the customer's word. A screenshot of a transfer is not confirmation that funds arrived.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Transfer reversals and fabricated payment screenshots are a known fraud pattern. Confirm in your own account before dispatching.
