The steps in order.
BEFORE STARTING
Create a Paystack account and complete their business verification. Settlement requires a verified account and a bank account in the business's name.
Have your business documentation ready.
INSTALLING THE INTEGRATION
For WooCommerce, install the official Paystack plugin from the plugin repository.
For other platforms, check Paystack's documentation for the available integration.
CONFIGURING
Enter your test and live API keys from the Paystack dashboard Start in test mode Set the title customers see at checkout Copy the webhook URL shown by the plugin and add it in your Paystack dashboard
THE WEBHOOK MATTERS
Without it, payments may succeed at Paystack while the order stays unpaid on your site, because your site never receives the confirmation.
This is the most common Paystack integration problem.
TESTING
Place a test order with Paystack's test cards. Confirm the order status updates and the confirmation email arrives.
GOING LIVE
Switch to live keys, turn off test mode, and make one real low-value purchase yourself. Refund it afterwards.
Do not skip that step.
