Receiving providers check three records to decide whether mail claiming to be from your domain is genuine. Missing or wrong records are the usual reason mail lands in spam.

THE THREE RECORDS

SPF lists which servers may send mail for your domain. DKIM adds a cryptographic signature proving the message was not altered. DMARC tells receivers what to do when SPF or DKIM fails, and where to send reports.

CHECKING AND FIXING

  1. In cPanel open Email Deliverability under Email.
  2. Each domain shows the status of its SPF and DKIM records.
  3. Where a problem is shown, click Repair and cPanel installs the correct records automatically.
  4. If your domain uses Cloudflare or external DNS, click "Install the suggested record" to view the values and add them at that provider instead, as the Repair button cannot change records we do not host.

OTHER CAUSES OF SPAM FILTERING

Sending from a Gmail or Yahoo address in the From field of your website forms, rather than an address on your own domain. No SMTP authentication on your website, so mail is sent via PHP mail(). Sending bulk newsletters from shared hosting. Use SendGrid, Brevo or Mailgun for volume. A new domain with no sending history. Reputation builds over a few weeks.
