An addon domain hosts a completely separate website on the same cPanel account, with its own folder and its own email.
BEFORE YOU START
The domain must be registered, and its nameservers must point at the pair shown for your account in the Client Area. Check your plan allows another addon domain in the right-hand statistics panel.
ADDING IT
- In cPanel open Domains under the Domains section.
- Click Create A New Domain.
- Enter the domain name without www.
- Untick "Share document root" so the new site gets its own folder.
- Confirm the Document Root, usually
public_html/newdomain.com - Click Submit.
AFTER ADDING
Upload that site's files into its own folder, not into public_html. Run AutoSSL from SSL/TLS Status to issue a certificate for the new domain. Create email accounts for it under Email Accounts if needed.
If the domain shows someone else's site, or an error saying it already exists, its nameservers are probably still pointing elsewhere, or it is already added to another account. Open a ticket and we will check.
