public_html is the folder served to visitors. A file at public_html/index.html appears at https://yourdomain.com/index.html

UPLOADING A SITE

  1. Open File Manager and go into public_html.
  2. Delete the default placeholder files if present (such as the default index.html).
  3. Zip your website on your computer first. Uploading one zip is far faster and more reliable than uploading hundreds of individual files.
  4. Click Upload and select the zip.
  5. Return to public_html, select the zip, and click Extract.
  6. Delete the zip once extraction finishes.

CHECK THE FOLDER STRUCTURE

If your zip contained a folder, your files may now be at public_html/mysite/ instead of public_html/. Open the folder, select all files, click Move, and move them up one level. Your homepage file must sit directly inside public_html.

HOMEPAGE FILE NAMES

The server looks for index.html, index.htm or index.php. A file named home.html or Index.HTML will not load automatically. File names are case sensitive.

ADDON DOMAINS

Each addon domain has its own folder, usually public_html/addondomain.com. Upload that site's files there, not into public_html itself.
