Restoring reverses the backup method you used. Take a fresh copy of the current broken state first — occasionally it contains content you have not backed up elsewhere.

Restoring with JetBackup

1. In cPanel open JetBackup under Files.
2. Choose File Backups to restore files, or Database Backups to restore the database, or Full Backups for both.
3. Pick the restore point by date and click Restore.
4. Confirm and wait for the queue to complete — you will see a notification when it finishes.

Restoring manually

1. Files: upload your zip to public_html via File Manager, extract it, and overwrite when prompted.
2. Database: open phpMyAdmin, select the database, use Drop on all existing tables, then Import your .sql file.
3. Check wp-config.php still has the correct database name, user and password.

Restoring with UpdraftPlus

Go to Settings → UpdraftPlus Backups, find the backup under Existing Backups, click Restore, and select all components.

After restoring

Clear all caches, check the homepage and an inner page, log in to the dashboard, and re-save permalinks under Settings → Permalinks.
