Obsolete. SNI made this untrue over a decade ago.
"PAID CERTIFICATES ARE MORE SECURE"
The encryption is identical. Paid certificates differ in validation level and warranty, not strength.
"EV CERTIFICATES SHOW A GREEN BAR"
Browsers removed that display. Visitors cannot distinguish certificate types.
"HTTPS MAKES MY SITE SECURE"
It encrypts the connection. The site can still run vulnerable software, store data carelessly or serve malware.
"HTTPS SLOWS MY SITE"
It enables HTTP/2, which is faster for typical pages. Net effect is usually positive.
"A PADLOCK MEANS THE SITE IS TRUSTWORTHY"
It means the connection is encrypted. Phishing sites have padlocks.
"I ONLY NEED HTTPS ON CHECKOUT"
Browsers flag any page with a form field, and sessions break between secure and insecure pages.
"FREE CERTIFICATES EXPIRE TOO OFTEN"
They renew automatically. Purchased certificates are the ones that expire unnoticed.
"I NEED TO REISSUE AFTER CHANGING HOSTING"
You need a certificate on the new server, which AutoSSL issues in minutes.
