The browser gave up after being redirected in a circle.

THE CAUSE

Two or more redirect mechanisms pointing at each other.

THE COMBINATIONS THAT CAUSE IT

cPanel Force HTTPS plus an .htaccess rule plus a plugin setting Cloudflare set to Flexible, requesting http from the server while serving https, with the server redirecting back A www redirect and a non-www redirect in opposition The application's site URL set to http while a redirect forces https

DIAGNOSING

  1. Disable every redirect you can find: the cPanel toggle, plugin SSL options, and .htaccess rules.
  2. Confirm the site loads.
  3. Enable one method only and test.

THE CLOUDFLARE FIX

Set SSL/TLS to Full (strict). This resolves most Cloudflare loops in seconds.

THE WORDPRESS CHECK

Settings > General. If the site URL is http and a redirect forces https, they will fight indefinitely. If you cannot reach the admin, define WP_HOME and WP_SITEURL in wp-config.php.

TESTING

Always in a private window. Browsers cache redirects and keep showing the loop after it is fixed.
