Occasionally you do not want a certificate issued.
WHEN THIS APPLIES
A domain parked and not in use A domain whose DNS points elsewhere, where repeated failed attempts generate notifications A domain using a purchased certificate you have installed manually, which AutoSSL might otherwise replace
HOW
cPanel > SSL/TLS Status. Find the domain and use the exclude option. It is then skipped on future runs.
RE-INCLUDING IT
The same screen offers "Include during AutoSSL". Tick it and run AutoSSL.
WHY YOU MIGHT NEED TO
If a domain was excluded automatically after repeated failures, it stays excluded until you include it again. This catches people out: they fix the underlying DNS problem, run AutoSSL, and nothing happens because the domain is still excluded.
Check the exclusion state before assuming AutoSSL is broken.
MANUALLY INSTALLED CERTIFICATES
AutoSSL generally leaves a valid manually installed certificate alone, but excluding the domain removes any doubt.
