Account migrations between servers change the address.
WHY IT HAPPENS
Hardware replacement, load balancing, or a platform upgrade. Your account is copied to a new server, which has different addresses.
A dedicated IP does not follow you; a new one is allocated on the new server.
WHAT WE HANDLE
The copy itself, and updating DNS where we host it. We will tell you in advance and explain what changes.
WHAT YOU MUST HANDLE
DNS records if hosted at Cloudflare or another provider
Third-party whitelists: payment gateways, APIs, partner systems, corporate firewalls
SPF records naming an address Reverse DNS requests for the new dedicated address Monitoring services configured against a literal address Application configuration referencing the address Private nameserver glue records, if you are a reseller
THE ONE THAT CAUSES OUTAGES
Reseller private nameservers. If the glue records still point at the old address, every client domain using them goes dark. Update them at cutover.
AFTERWARDS
Verify the site, email, and each third-party integration individually rather than assuming.
