Reputation is judged by receiving providers, and several tools give you visibility.

WHAT TO CHECK

Blacklist listings, using any multi-list lookup tool against your address and your domain Sender reputation services, which score addresses based on observed sending behaviour Postmaster tools offered by major providers, which report on mail sent to their users from your domain Your own bounce and complaint rates

WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE

No blacklist listings Low bounce rates, meaning you are not sending to invalid addresses Low complaint rates Consistent sending volume rather than sudden spikes

WHAT TO DO ABOUT PROBLEMS

  • A listing: fix the cause, then request delisting.
  • High bounces: clean your list before sending.
  • High complaints: you are sending to people who did not ask for it, which is the underlying problem.
  • Sudden volume spikes: warm gradually rather than bursting.

HOW OFTEN

Monthly is sufficient for most senders. Check immediately if recipients report not receiving mail, or if you notice bounces you did not expect.

Bring the results to a ticket if the cause is not clear.
