How the add-on is charged.
THE CYCLE
A dedicated IP usually adopts the billing cycle of the service it is attached to. The first charge is prorated to align with your existing renewal date, so subsequent invoices carry it as a single line alongside the hosting.
WHY IT COSTS ANYTHING
IPv4 addresses are a genuinely scarce resource, acquired at real cost on transfer markets since the free pools were exhausted. Every provider charges for them for the same reason.
CHANGING THE BILLING CYCLE
If you change your hosting cycle, the add-on normally follows at the next renewal.
CANCELLING
Request cancellation from Services > My Services or through a ticket, choosing end of billing period. The address is reclaimed at that point and reassigned.
BEFORE CANCELLING
Make sure nothing still depends on it: DNS records, third-party whitelists, mail configuration, application settings. Once reclaimed, the address is gone and will not be returned to you.
IF THE CHARGE APPEARS AND YOU DO NOT RECOGNISE IT
Check Services > My Services for add-ons attached to your package. Open a ticket with the invoice number if it is still unclear.
