Pointing Your Domain at a Dedicated IP Print

Holding a dedicated IP does nothing until DNS points at it.

IF OUR NAMESERVERS HOST YOUR DNS

cPanel > Zone Editor. Check the A record for your domain and for www. Update them to the dedicated address if they still show the shared one.

Subdomains have their own A records and may also need updating.

IF CLOUDFLARE OR ANOTHER PROVIDER HOSTS YOUR DNS

Update the A record there. The cPanel Zone Editor has no effect when your nameservers point elsewhere, and editing it will appear to work while changing nothing.

AFTER UPDATING

Allow for propagation according to the record's TTL. Lower the TTL to 300 beforehand if you can plan ahead.

Verify with a DNS lookup that the domain now returns the dedicated address. Do not rely on the site loading, since a cached answer may be in play.

Re-run AutoSSL if the certificate needs revalidating.

IF THE SITE STOPS LOADING

The most likely cause is an A record updated in the wrong place, or a typo in the address. Compare the resolved address with the one in cPanel.
