WHAT WE DO
Allocate an available address to your account and configure it on the server. You are notified when this is complete.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
- Confirm the address appears in cPanel's right-hand statistics panel as your Dedicated IP Address.
- Update your domain's A record to point at the new address, if you want the site served from it. Where our nameservers host your DNS, this may be handled for you; check the Zone Editor.
- If your DNS is at Cloudflare or another provider, update the A record there. Nothing in cPanel affects it.
- Allow for propagation.
- Re-run AutoSSL if the certificate needs revalidating against the new address.
IF YOU ORDERED IT FOR MAIL
Request reverse DNS for the address, and review your SPF record to reflect the change.
IF YOU ORDERED IT FOR WHITELISTING
Supply the new address to the third party and confirm the integration works before assuming it does.
CHECK, DO NOT ASSUME
Verify the site resolves to the new address with a DNS lookup rather than trusting that it does.
