WHAT SHARED HOSTING ALLOWS
Even with a dedicated IP, shared hosting restricts which ports you may use and what may run persistently. A dedicated address does not unlock root access, custom server software, or long-running background processes.
If your application needs those, the answer is a VPS, not an IP add-on.
WHAT TO DO
Describe the application and its requirements in a ticket before ordering. We will tell you whether it can run on shared hosting at all, and whether a dedicated IP is part of the answer.
This saves buying an add-on and then discovering the underlying environment does not support what you need.
