Some contracts and regulatory frameworks reference network configuration.

WHERE IT ARISES

A partner or client contract specifying a dedicated address A payment processor's requirements for a particular integration An internal security policy at a corporate customer A regulator or auditor asking about network isolation

WHAT A DEDICATED IP ACTUALLY PROVIDES

An address not shared with other customers. That is the whole of it.

It does not provide isolated server resources, a private server, or separation of your data from other accounts at any other level. If a requirement calls for genuine isolation, shared hosting with a dedicated IP does not satisfy it and a VPS or dedicated server is the honest answer.

BEFORE ORDERING

Read the requirement carefully and, ideally, send us the exact wording in a ticket. Requirements that say "dedicated IP" are satisfied by this add-on. Requirements that say "dedicated server", "isolated environment" or "no shared infrastructure" are not.

We would rather tell you that shared hosting cannot meet a requirement than sell you an add-on that leaves you non-compliant and believing otherwise.
