Once a year, work out whether this is worth your time.

WHAT TO LOOK AT

Total cleared commission over the year Which content produced it How much time you spent on affiliate-specific work Whether the trend is up, flat or down

THE HONEST QUESTIONS

Is the commission meaningful relative to the effort? For a designer referring clients anyway, almost certainly yes, since the effort is near zero. For someone writing content specifically for affiliate income, is the return justifying the hours? Is one piece of content producing almost everything? Usually yes. Improve it and write more like it. Is any content underperforming despite traffic? Look at the framing.

WHAT TO DO WITH THE ANSWERS

If a small amount of content produces steady income, maintain it and add to it. If nothing is working after a year of genuine effort, either change the approach or stop, rather than continuing out of habit. If you are hosting several clients, consider whether reseller hosting would earn more than commission.

ALSO CHECK

That your content is still accurate, and that your links still work.
